The huge boat-shaped stadium, more commonly known and feared as "The Plank",
is the home to the skilled Marshfield Pirates. The large stadium sits out
in the middle of a tiny lake, the loyal fans get to the stadium by walking
through the lake in clear tubes, giving fans a great underwater tour before
the game. The entire lake is filled with man-eating sharks.
All around The Plank there are parties and lots of celebration from the
fans, all 500,000 of them. Underneath the field and inside the Ship are
shops, bars, and restuarants of all kinds, holding the majority of the
fans, who watch the game on many large 200" TVs. The fans, who call themselves
Hook's Crew, pride themselves in how many they can cram into the stadium
and how much food and drink they can consume in a single game. "I think
one time we almost had a million screaming fans inside The Plank," said
owner Jason Van Over, more commonly know around The Plank as Captain Hook,
"I couldn't believe it. The Plank brings a whole new meaning to home field
advantage."
No opposing fans are let into the games, and each Marshfield Pirate fan
is dressed in appropriate attire, swash buckling traditional buccaneer
clothes, silver and blue, all swinging their curved swords. If an opposing
fan is caught inside the stadium, their hands are tied behind their backs
and they are forced to walk one of the 6 planks located around The Plank,
and jeered as they are devoured by the sharks.
