Slayers Victorious in Big SCUFFLE Rematch
The Port City Slayers and Shangri-La Shockers had stellar
seasons in 2006 while playing very different styles of football.
Whereas the Slayers generally played with 3 running backs, the Shockers
featured the 4-wide offense. Though these teams play in different
conferences, they have had some historically manly matchups over the
years, most notably in Big SCUFFLE III when the Shockers edged the
Slayers 61-54.
The Shockers were a great team in 2006, but the Slayers were a team of
destiny. Going 12-2 and riding the incredible play of Steven
Jackson, the Slayers easily dispatched Shangri-La, scoring an
incredible 72 points in the finale.
The victory made the Slayers the first SCUFFLE team to achieve multiple
championships, and moved their Big SCUFFLE record to 2-3.
By the way, Marc Bulger is now 0-3 in Big SCUFFLE championship games.
